Terms of use

CartGenie is a free Chrome extension and website published by 5StepLabs (“we”, “us”). By installing or using CartGenie you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install it, or uninstall it.
What CartGenie is
CartGenie shows an estimate of the effective price of every instant discount and each bank's cheapest EMI plan on the Flipkart product page you are viewing, with coupons, SuperCoins, interest, GST and fees added up, and marks the ones on the cards you tell it you hold. It is built for Flipkart’s electronics pages; other categories may not work yet. It works by doing arithmetic on what Flipkart and the banks show you for that product. It does not sign in for you, does not buy anything, does not apply offers, does not change anything in your account, and never transacts on your behalf.
What CartGenie is not
CartGenie is not a store, a bank, a payment service, a lender or an adviser. Nothing it shows is financial, credit or tax advice, or an offer to sell. Your purchase is between you, Flipkart and your bank, on their terms.
Independence
CartGenie is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Flipkart or any bank. Flipkart and the bank names and logos belong to their owners and appear only to identify the store and the cards an offer relates to.
Accuracy
Offers, prices, interest rates, fees and eligibility are set and changed by Flipkart and the banks at any time, and may be applied differently at checkout or depend on your card and account. The amount you finally pay is decided by Flipkart and your bank. When CartGenie cannot read a term on the page it says so instead of guessing, but its figures can still be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check the checkout page and your bank’s terms before you pay.
Using CartGenie fairly
CartGenie and our service are for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- collect, extract, store, resell or republish offer data through CartGenie or our service, in bulk or for others;
- call our service with anything other than the extension, or with automated tools;
- bypass, disable or interfere with the human check, the fair-use limits, tokens or any other protective measure;
- use CartGenie in a way that breaks the law or the terms of the sites it runs on.
We may limit, suspend or block an install that breaches these terms, without notice. You are responsible for any use of CartGenie in breach of them.
The service
CartGenie is provided as it is and as available. We may change, pause or discontinue any part of it, including support for a store, at any time and without notice. We do not promise that it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will keep working when a store changes its pages.
Your data
How CartGenie handles data is described in the Privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Ownership and licence
The CartGenie name, mark, software and content belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the extension under these terms. Nothing here gives you, or us, any right in Flipkart’s or any bank’s names, marks or content. The open-source software and fonts the extension includes are listed, with their licences, on the licences page.
Third parties
Installing CartGenie is subject to the Chrome Web Store’s terms. The human check is provided by Cloudflare under its terms. Your dealings with Flipkart and any bank are governed by their terms, not ours.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties and are not liable for any loss or damage arising from CartGenie or our service, including reliance on any figure it shows, a missed or misapplied offer, a purchase decision, or the service being unavailable. CartGenie is free, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to zero rupees. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Indian law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Ending
You can stop using CartGenie at any time by uninstalling it. We may end or suspend your access if you breach these terms.
Notices and complaints
For questions, complaints or notices, email 5steplabs@gmail.com. If you represent a store or a bank and have a concern about how your information appears in CartGenie, write to the same address; we will respond promptly and in good faith.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. We will try to resolve any dispute informally first; failing that, the courts at the place of our principal office in India have exclusive jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. Using CartGenie after a change means you accept it. Material changes will also be noted on the extension’s store listing.
